The Mask is a cultural center in Mahres in the Sfax district of Tunisia, aiming to contribute to the creation of cultural activities locally. Its activity mainly focuses on theater, cinema, visual arts, the music scene, in addition to holding seminars, art workshops, and festivals.
Le Masque est un centre culturel situé dans la délégation de Mahrès, gouvernorat de Sfax en Tunisie, porté sur la création d’activités culturelles dans la délégation. Les activités du centre sont axée sur le théâtre, le cinéma et les arts plastiques, la scène musicale, ainsi que l’organisation de séminaires culturels, d’ateliers artistiques et de festivals.
“القناع” مركز ثقافي مقرّه جهة المحرس في ولاية صفاقس بتونس، يهدف للمساهمة في خلق نشاط ثقافي في الجهة. يرتكز نشاط المركز على المسرح والسينما والفنون التشكيلية والعروض الموسيقية، بالإضافة إلى تنظيم الندوات الفكرية والورشات الفنية والمهرجانات.

The Association Phoenix for Arts is a cultural association active in the city of Zagora in Morocco with a focus on theater, music, and plastic arts. The association aims to transcend borders to reach other Moroccan cities and neighboring countries by involving them in national theater and music festivals and through regional partnerships.
L’Association Phénix pour l’Art est une association culturelle active dans la ville de Zagora au Maroc portée sur le théâtre, la musique et les arts plastiques. L’association œuvre pour transcender les frontières vers d’autres villes marocaines et pays voisins à travers la participation à des festivals de musique et de théâtre nationaux ainsi que des partenariats régionaux.
“جمعية الفينيق للإبداع الفني والثقافي” هي جمعية ثقافية تنشط في مدينة زاكورة في المغرب، وتعنى بالمسرح والموسيقى والفن التشكيلي. تسعى الجمعية إلى تجاوز الحدود بغية الوصول إلى المدن المغربية الأخرى ودول الجوار، وذلك عبر إشراكها في مهرجانات وطنية مسرحيّة وموسيقيّة، كما عبر إقامة شراكات إقليمية.

The project is an artistic initiative that brings together artists, thinkers, and academics from various disciplines and countries on the African continent. Associations, institutions, and organizations that perform artistic productions and participate in building local and international relations will be working together to spread and develop the artistic field. The implementation of the project will be in Tunisia, Morocco, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Djibouti in addition to two major events that will be organized in Tunisia and Morocco.
Le projet consiste en une initiative artistique rassemblant artistes, intellectuels et universitaires de diverses disciplines et pays du continent africain. Les associations, institutions et organisations qui réalisent des productions artistiques et participent à l’établissement de relations locales et internationales, travailleront ensemble pour la dissémination et le développement du domaine artistique. La mise en œuvre du projet se fera en Tunisie, au Maroc, au Soudan, en Ethiopie et à Djibouti, en plus de deux évènements majeurs qui auront lieu en Tunisie et au Maroc.
هذا المشروع عبارة عن مبادرة فنية تجمع بين فنانين ومفكرين وأكاديميين من مختلف بلدان القارة الافريقية. في هذا العام، ستستهدف المبادرة خمسة بلدان هي تونس والمغرب والسودان وإثيوبيا وجيبوتي، وذلك من خلال بناء شراكات ومشاريع تعاون فني مع مؤسسات ومنظمات منتجة للفنون وتشارك في بناء علاقات محلية ودولية تهدف لتوسيع رقعة انتشار الفن وتطوره. وذلك بالإضافة إلى تنظيم فعاليات في كل من تونس والمغرب
Creative Africa: Seeking a common African identity through culture
Creative Africa seeks to create a creative cultural movement based in the African continent and in communication with other countries of the world through the exchange of ideas and experiences in all forms of expression suggested by participating artists, thinkers, and technicians. The Creative Africa project includes the countries of Djibouti, Sudan, Somalia, Morocco, and Ethiopia. These five African and Arab nations share artistic characteristics that artists, who believe that borders are insignificant when faced with genuine ideas, are striving to emphasize.

Creative Africa : La culture pour rechercher une identité africaine commune
L’appellation, Creative Africa (Afrique créative), à travers laquelle nous souhaitons indiquer une tentative de créer une mouvance culturelle créative ayant pour point de départ le continent africain et à laquelle participent les autres pays du monde, à travers l’échange d’idées et d’expériences sous différentes formes d’expression suggérées par les artistes, les intellectuels et les techniciens participants. Le projet Creative Africa englobe Djibouti, le Soudan, la Somalie, le Maroc et l’Ethiopie, cinq pays africains et arabes qui partagent de nombreuses spécificités artistiques, que des artistes, persuadés que les frontières disparaissent face aux vraies idées, cherchent à faire ressortir.

إفريقيا المبدعة: الثقافة للبحث في الهوية الإفريقية المشتركة
يسعى مشروع "إفريقيا المبدعة" إلى خلق حركة فنية إبداعية تنطلق من القارة الإفريقية وتشارك فيها بلدان العالم الأخرى، وذلك عبر تبادل الأفكار والتجارب والخبرات في كافة الأشكال التعبيرية المقترحة من الفنانين والمثقفين والتقنيين المشاركين. يشمل هذا المشروع جيبوتي والسودان والصومال والمغرب وإثيوبيا، أي خمس دول إفريقية وعربية تتشارك في الكثير من الخصائص الفنية التي يعمل على إبرازها الفنانون المؤمنون بأنّ الأفكار الحقيقية تتجاوز الحدود كلّها.

In this North Africa Cultural Program interview, Hossam El Abd, a theater director and one of the partners of "Creative Africa", reveals the ins and outs of this regional project. "Creative Africa" is about networking with performers and musicians from various African countries. How can we produce shows and festivals during a pandemic? How do we maintain our relationship with the audience? And how do we imagine our practice in a moment of crisis? These are some of the questions "Creative Africa" answered about their adventurous journey in the last three years.
Au cours de cette entrevue dans le cadre du Programme culturel de l’Afrique du Nord, Hossam El Abd, directeur de théâtre et l’un des partenaires de “Creative Africa”, nous révèle les détails de ce projet régional. "Creative Africa" consiste à créer des réseaux avec des artistes et des musiciens de divers pays africains. Comment produire des spectacles et des festivals pendant une pandémie ? Comment entretenir notre relation avec le public ? Et comment imaginons-nous notre pratique en temps de crise ? Telles sont quelques-unes des questions auxquelles “Creative Africa” a répondu à propos de leur voyage d’aventures au cours des trois dernières années.
في هذا اللقاء من لقاءات برنامج شمال إفريقيا الثقافي، قابلنا المخرج المسرحي حسام العبد، أحد الشركاء في المشروع الإقليمي "إفريقيا المبدعة". يركز المشروع "إفريقيا المبدعة" على التشبيك بين الفنانين والفنانات الحركيين والحركيات والموسيقيين من عدة بلدان إفريقية. إنطلاقاً من تجربة البرنامج والمغامرات التي خاضها الشركاء على مدار الثلاث سنوات الماضية، عمل البرنامج على إجابة تساؤلات عدة منها: كيف يمكننا إنتاج عروض ومهرجانات وسط لحظات إغلاق ووباء؟ كيف نحافظ على علاقتنا بالجمهور؟ وكيف يمكننا إعادة تخيل ممارستنا وعملنا في لحظات الأزمات؟
